Prof. Wah Chiu Joins Advisory Committee of Xiangtan Uni. Alumni Association of North America

Professor Wah Chiu, a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences (NAS), has pleasantly agreed to be a member of the Advisory Committee of the Xiangtan University Alumni Association of North America.

Prof. Chiu is a well-respected American biophysicist born in Hong Kong. Graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Ph. D in Biophysics, he was among the pioneering scientists in Cryo-electron microscopy, a technology gaining popularity in structural biology. His accomplishments in biophysics, computational biology and biochemistry over the years have brought him wide recognition globally. He was elected member of the NAS in 2012, and is currently a leading academician at Stanford University.

It’s a great honor for the alumni association to have Prof. Chiu as its adviser on science. The association believes this will open a door for its members to more valuable advice from the world’s top-tier scientists.
